Meet the Team

  1. Headshot of Krista Moats, a woman with long, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a wide smile. She is wearing a bright red blouse.

    Krista Moats

    ProfouND Co-Chair
Manager, IT Marketing & Communications, OIT
    kmoats@nd.edu

As someone with ADHD, Krista values the insight neurodivergent people and experts can share to help each other navigate life and work. Krista aims to make IT communications at Notre Dame clear, concise, and focused. She strips out extraneous language and advocates for scannable bullet points over dense paragraphs—making information easier to absorb and process, especially for neurodivergent readers.

  2. Headshot of Thomas Waldschmidt, a man with short light brown hair, wearing a navy suit, light blue shirt, and maroon patterned tie, smiling against a gray background. He wears a small gold University of Notre Dame lapel pin.

    Thomas Waldschmidt

    ProfouND Co-Chair
    Safety Specialist, Enterprises and Operations
    twaldsch@nd.edu

Thomas works closely with campus partners to promote a culture of safety across events, venues, and enterprise operations. With a proactive approach and a passion for collaboration, Thomas helps ensure the well-being of our community through thoughtful planning, training, and compliance support.

  3. Headshot of a woman with shoulder-length brown hair, smiling, wearing a black blazer and patterned blouse.

    Maureen Baska

    ProfouND Secretary
    Family Services Consultant, NDHR
    maureen.baska@nd.edu

Maureen supports working families at Notre Dame by connecting them with benefits and resources. She collaborates across campus with various groups, including ProfouND, the Caregivers Support Group, and the Working Moms Group (a subset of YLND). She is also a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and strongly believes in the importance of building greater awareness and acceptance of mental health challenges as well as seen and unseen disabilities.

  4. Headshot of a woman with dark, curly hair, glasses, and a black jacket over a blue and white patterned top, smiling at the camera against a gray background.

    Nicole Velasquez

    ProfouND Communications & Marketing Lead
    CRM Administration Professional, OIT
    nguerrer@nd.edu

Nicole leads communication efforts for ProfouND, helping share the group’s mission, events, and stories with the campus community. She was drawn to ProfouND as a caretaker for a veteran with disabilities, a parent to two neurodivergent children, and someone who is neurodivergent herself. As an IT professional, she advocates for digital accessibility and believes inclusive design isn’t just good practice—it’s better for everyone.

  5. Blonde woman with blue eyes, wearing a light blue shirt and gold necklaces, smiles at the camera.

    Katie Whitcomb

    ProfouND Treasurer
    Business Development Specialist, Business Development
    kwhitcom@nd.edu

Katie works closely with campus partners and external clients to book various venues across campus. She was introduced to ProfouND after attending the Caregiver’s Support Group. She is a caregiver to her husband, who suffered a life-altering stroke in 2022, and a young adult son with Autism who’s fairly non-verbal. She, herself, suffers from fibromyalgia and lives with daily pain, chronic fatigue, and brain fog. Through ProfouND, Katie is excited to see how we can help educate direct reports on how to navigate managing people with unseen abilities as well as how she approaches booking events across campus.
